How do I want to be perceived to my closest allies and friends?

Depending on how you communicate expect people to watch your every move. So ensure that wherever you communicate – offline, in training, media of any kind, personally, professionally – make sure it is aligned with your goals.

How do I need to be perceived and thought of by those who view me as their enemy or competition?

You don’t need to think too much about critics but try to leave evidence every where you go that you are honest, forthright, fair, charitable and kind. If not you give your competition and enemies motivation to hurt you in little, cutting ways.

What personal reputation would I like to convey to new clients, old clients, current friends, allies and my potential competition?

Decide that no matter how successful you were in the past you must constantly earn your reputation along the way. Do not let your successful past endeavors make you arrogant and aggressive. Treat new people and new opportunities with care and kindness, arrogance free.

How should I communicate and who will see me when I do?

Don’t communicate anything on social media, email, voice or video that you don’t want the world to see, hear and record. This is hard to believe but every Facebook post, LinkedIn comment, discussion or conversation matters.

How open do I need to be about myself personally?

Do you really want people to know your last client success and your most recent personal issue?  Be cautious about bragging but be proud of your best work.

In what ways do I need to communicate what I am doing and where I am going in business?

Plan or really think about your entire communication strategy and allow your toughest coaches and friendly critics weigh in to help you.
