Vicki Lee Parker, Executive Director of North Carolina Business Council, and Small Business and Nonprofit Fundraising Consultant.

Vicki Lee Parker is an entrepreneur, a writer and fundraising consultant. She works with small businesses and nonprofits to help them access capital through developing winning proposals, grants, business plans and marketing strategies. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the North Carolina Business Council, a statewide nonprofit that provides support services and advocates for mission driven businesses. Prior to that, Vicki served as the Marketing & Communications Director at a Raleigh nonprofit organization that provides small business loans to companies in underserved markets. She managed its marketing, communications and funding initiatives for five years. Through her grant writing and fundraising activities, Vicki helped to secure more than $12 million in funding that is used to help provide loans to small businesses in low-wealth communities across North Carolina.

Vicki also worked nine years as a business reporter for the News & Observer in Raleigh covering small business, the mortgage crisis, the manufacturing industry decline, technology, and consumer finance issues. Vicki has also written for the Wall Street Journal covering commercial developments in major cities. She has also been a contributing writer for Black Enterprise Magazine on personal finance issues. She specializes in strategic marketing planning and program funding development.

Vicki is an active member of the Triangle Real Estate Investment Association. She has a Master of Business Administration from Meredith College in Raleigh and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from American University in Washington, D.C. She lives in Raleigh, NC with her daughter.
